Two kinds of powder mixtures, talc-MgCO3 basic (MCB) and talc-MgO, were ground in air using a planetary ball mill in order to investigate the formation of forsterite in the sintered body. Grinding the mixture of talc-MCB caused the structure to change into amorphous state, while crystalline phases still remained in the ground mixture of talc-MgO.
